BUMP! This is a great thread. I'm thinking about tiling my tank too with dark black tile. I have a barebottom tank right now and some of the pics above really make me want to switch to tile.

Starting to think about this more when we overhaul the 125, do 18 inch tiles fit or are they a bit too big to fit inside?

Can anyone who has done a standard 125g. 6 foot tank tell me exactly how many and what size tiles u used? im gona do mine soon. im so sick of the muck of sand and gravel in my tank. these tanks ive been seeing look amazing. Sand is hard to scoop lungfish poop from :)

Just remember that alot of fine crap will get stuck under your tiles. I had detritus build-up under them, and quiet a bit of black slime type algae would grow on the tiles. Still needs to be maintained.

Good tips.I'm thinking about gluing the tiles down with silicone to prevent stuff from getting underneath them.

Here is mine I just did. I did not "cement" the tiles down though for cleaning purposes as for mentioned. I simply let the suction hold them in place.
