when you say general locality...you mean the body of water in which the fish were collected from...correct?Polypterus;1826818; said:What is the general location you caught them at??
looking at the vid again im thinking i might have been wrong before..could you get a clearer picture?demjor19;1826787; said:i think i'm going with longnose on this one. the picture quality is somewhat poor, but the snout looks too long to be florida/spotted. definitely not a gator gar though.
edit: do some of the fish have longer snouts than others? it may just be the different angles, but i swear i'm seing florida/spotted and longnose gar...
without a good pic all we can do is guess. after looking at the vid a few more times i started second guessing myself as well. one looked longnose to me, then a few looked florida/spotted. better pics would definitely help with a possitive id and maybe once he gives richard the locality info that will help...assuming it isnt a location that florida and longnose co-exist.xander13;1826961; said:looking at the vid again im thinking i might have been wrong before..could you get a clearer picture?
longnose can have spots and oftentimes do have some spotting. is the one in the beginning of the vid the one has the longer snout?muckieman;1827657; said:all but one has the charterristic of fl/spotted the one has a longer snot but still has spots so i'm assuming spotted
would you be willing to give the locality of the fish? maybe it can be determined wheather they are indeed florida gar or spotted gar?muckieman;1827786; said:i took a closer lok his mouth is all in paportion so they all are most likly spoted/fl thanks guys i lost two bass they were just a bit small and got eating the others are to larger
