the in between stage. i won't be posting anymore pics until i complete the tank! fish wise, i am still trying to sell the thrid orino, and am still trying to decide if i should keep 2 orinos or go full primitive. which means just the gars, polys and channa. gar wise, i'm (still!) working on getting tropical gars. when they come in (or it becomes clear they aren't going to), i'll pick up a gator too. i am also contemplating selling one cuban. i added the 2 9.5" laps into the big tank, although they are by far way too small. i am currently re-cycling their own home in anticipation of the incoming(hopefully!!) tropical gars, and due to a power shortcircuit, i had to shut their tank for a few days. anyways, enough blabber, here are some pics!
The first posted pic is of the tank before adding the plants. i have not added all the plants or sand that the eventual aquascape will hold.
the first 2 gar pics were taken by the gf
Lap yawn for the poly freaks.
Peacock bass are not good tankmates for gar, do not attempt this combo unless you are willing to take the risk. imo it's more true for Lepisosteus(Florida, Spotted, ESPECIALLY LONGNOSE AND SHORTNOSE) species than Atractosteus(Cuban, Tropical, Alligator)
