I have the opportunity to either get a bare bones 50g acrylic or a fully loaded (just need fish & water) 40g glass tank, which one?? The 50g is going for $50 and the 40g is $60. what ever tank I get, it will be a native tank either with sunfish or bluegills. Well, whaddya guys think? Pros and cons...

I always say "bigger is better" but I don't have any experience with acrylic tanks so.. I'd prolly go with the smaller one.

if money is the issue get the 40g, but if your willing to spend about $100ish total(for pumps, lights, heater, and such) then go with the 50g. Your fish and you will be happier with the 50g in my opinion.

What are the dimensions of the two tanks and exactly what comes with the 40?

The 50g is gone, but the guy does have another acrylic but in 40g (36in W x 16in H x 15in D). Same deal, no hardware just the tank. The 40g glass is still available but no dimensions were given.

2 40g tanks / 1 acrylic the other glass ($50) / glass tank comes w/everything but H2O & fish and the acrylic is just the tank ($60)

Does any of this help? Both guys promised to hold tanks for me 'til tomorrow afternoon.

I'll still go for the 40 with every thing.
