sorry, but prepare for the worst..Never had it in my dats but what I hear ( and read over here ) is that once they start quickbreathing they're goners...Let's hope your dat disbelieves this theory...
Have one that contradicted it already. Have one w/popeyed or some eye infection. Treated with little aquarium salt and raised temp. After 5 days, started quickbreathing + turned upside down, immediately lower temp, water change and it semi-recovered. Still battling eye problem
