This is a list of the of the IUCN standings of the species listed above. Cherry Barbs (Puntius titteya) is listed as an IUCN Red List species of Least Concern. Black Ruby Barbs (Puntius nigrofasciatus) is listed as an IUCN Red List species of Least Concern. Red Tailed Black Sharks (Epalzeorhynchos bicolor) is listed as an IUCN Red List species that is Critically Endangered. Lastly Bala Sharks (Balantiocheilos melanopterus) is listed as an IUCN Red List species that is Endangered. Some conservation news about the Red Tail Black Sharks that is listed as Critically Endangered. There seems to be some conservation interest to restore the species in the species native range through reintroduction of wild stock from other populations. The brood stock that is used to supply the aquarium trade is thought not to be adequate to use for reintroductions into the wild.I am pretty sure black ruby and cherry barbs are extinct also
