Hi guys,

After a long search for over 6 years, i have laid my hands on an arapaima gigas baby. Would like your advice on their cohabitants.

Don't know what to suggest as tank mates because it will quickly outgrow most anything you keep it with.

BTW as a side note: Make sure there is no way it can get trapped in or under any decorations, because it could drown. This has been claimed to have happen to a member here on MFK.

I have read articles that an arapaima grows rapidly from 13 inches onwards and reaches 26 inches in a year , after that the growth inhibites and may take 3 to 4 years in raching 40 inches. In view of that i thought the 12 x 5 x5 would suffice for atleast 10 years. Today he is only 8 inches in length
