This is a juvie Bay Snook, Petenia splendida. HERE are some pics of this species, including the normal colored and the red morph (Red bay Snook). Your juvie can be of both varieties if it's around 3-4 inches long. If it's bigger than 4 inches, it's probably the normal-colored morph. In this article you'll find some useful info on this species. i just got 2 of them. theyre a really cool little fish and go crazy at feeding time. BTW where abouts in NSW do you come from? im from byron bay (near lismore on the north coast)
