I Officially Hate My Oscar

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Terribly sorry to hear about losing such a nice fish. I know how you feel, I had a pair of jack dempsey's chase my significantly larger salvani out of the tank! poor thing turned into a piece of jerky! And thats after they terminated the fire mouths! sometimes it's best to keep certain species apart or match aggressive characteristics.

My Oscar is very well behaved, sorry about your problems.

Agreed. . . they're not aggressive enough to handle an oscar. . . especially one of that size.

A large mouth bass should take care of that oscar because the bass is meaner:woot:. sorry for your loss.

I don't know about that, while they are predators they are not very aggresive towards fish they cannot eat. Of course, I cannot speak for all bass but I think the grand majority are not all that aggresive. Most oscars aren't aggresive either when compaired to other cichlids.

Sorry for your losses. **** happens, especially when you mix aggresive fish together.

I had oscars and started to think they were quite boring after a couple years, anyway. LOL Just get rid of it now. Hehe.

They're not boring if you get them a few feeders every few days. . . train 'em like a pit bull :headbang2

I don;t actually hate him anymore, I was just really upset at the loss. He has never been aggressive before, so I dont know what happened. I had to move the GT into a precycled10 gallon hospital tank, but there is over 50 gallons of filtration so he should be ok for a few days. I hope I can get my 125 set up asap.

I have over 26 different species of fish and have had others in the past, I don't see how oscars are anymore boreing than any other fish.
