somwhere
i got a baby arowana yesterday hes maybe 7-8in but he swims around and then goes and stops by my overflow and stays there. Hes kinda getting suctioned to the overflow...Is this bad, im concerned hes not swimming around. Hes in a 135, with a baby ornate bichir and 2 bala sharks.

Thanks

Hows the overall condition of the aro ? hows your water? Seems to me that the aro is
just stressed. It should come around soon .

My 5" baby silver does it too, I think they're looking for a way out. Give him some plants at the top to hide in, seal that lid tight and no holes ANYWHERE. Keep a couple desk lamps with amber bulbs clipped on the sides, cheap at walmart- and turn off your main aquarium light, be sure the room isn't brighter than the tank. It can take them up to 3 days normally to eat, presoak a piece of hikari (1/2) and dip it and presoak it for about 5 secs and if he doesn't eat, remove the food.

Paramters are vital in the survival of your aro. Try to heat it up a notch and put some salt in there. (read instructions)
Good Luck
I also used an angelfish as a nanny.

already 5 inches?!?! :eek3:

The water is perfect, I just did a huge waterchange yesterday before I put everyone in the tank. He has kinda been eating, hes eaten 3 pieces of FD krill 1 yesterday, 2 today.

if he is eating already I think you're in good shape. From my experience they will stay kind of skittish/ easily spooked when they are small.

I bought a big plastic plant and pulled out all the stems into smaller pieces and they float on the top... the spray bar and powerhead keep them moving all around to tank and the aro (6-7") loves to weave threw them. Its really entertaining watching him get his food from inside the plant pieces cause he jsut rams his way threw them all... Good luck and it sounds like your arrow is really stressed, i would give him a few days

I think Im going to get a bunch of floating plants tomarrow. but he was eating like a pig just now, 4 pieces of krill...I think he'll come around soon.
