A recent post made me think about this. We all live in different areas, and we all have access to different fish. What if we all posted the fish we encountered, and could then set up a trading network for those fish? It will be up to the individual members to establish the legality of this, but remember that trading is not selling!
I can get:
pumpinseed
bluegill (who can't?)
mosquitofish (again, who can't?)
channel catfish
blue catfish
yellow perch
white perch
golden shiner
tasselated darter
barred sunfish
white crappie
redfin pickeral
glass shrimp
northern hogchocker
various killifish and minnows
carp
longnose gar (occasionally)
and a whole host of saltwater natives (oyster crackers rule!)

So what do ya'll think? Anybody game?

Definitely subscribing. I have actually caught the following in my area:

Bluegill
Green sunfish
longear sunfish
smallmouth bass
largemouth bass
black crappie
central stoneroller
creek chub (again, who can't get these?)
common carp
yellow bullhead
channel catfish
freshwater drum

I also know the following are native to my area, but either haven't caught them or wasn't interested in properly IDing them at the time:

orangethroat darter
greenside darter
rainbow darter
johny darter
fantail darter
striped topminnow
black bullhead
flathead catfish
orangespot sunfish
redear sunfish
rock bass
white crappie
tadpole madtom
stonecat
white sucker
yellow perch
over a dozen various shiners and minnows.

With more experience and better resources, I'll be able to move some of the second list up to the first.

Good luck,
Josh H

How do you ship fish across country without them dying? I have an abundant supply of Missouri longear sunfish and would love a pair of pickerel if it's legal and possible.

Go look in either the Ozarks or in the southern part of the state, pickeral are all over.

OP you said you have access to saltwater, have you ever gotten any small Tripletails?..Very interested in those.

No, the tripletails around here involve a 30-40 mile boat ride out to the weed lines in september. My 17' Mckeecraft is only good for about 20 miles out. Why on earth would you want a tripletail? Them things get huge!
Can anybody get juvi bowfin? That ones gonna be popular!

Blue Spotted Sunfish.
Great dwarfs with amazing colors.

Pretty much all I'm concerned with this year!
Got some last year, hope to get about 50 this year!
See if they can go community if overwhelmed in numbers.

A community tank made of dwarf sunfish...
