I know this has to happen to a lot of you... It happens to me more often now that I have a bigger tank, especially during water changes... I used to use a bucket for WC's, but that's just too much... So I went a bought 25 feet of hose so that I can syphon the water out and water the plants outside at the same time....

To get the water to start running (this is gonna sound so bad, so keep your sillyness to a min:D) I suck the end of it... and it takes quite a bit of effort, so to get it really going, I blow it and there comes the water gushing... I've tried to miss the rushing water but many times it has filled my mouth...it happens!! hahhaha!! Alright guys, let us all know what situations cause this to happen to you...

Oh transporting fish from one tank to another does it to me too.. with the the splashing...

The worst is taking a mouth full of salt water, it left an after taste in my mouth for a day..

ive got an old school fluval 303 i got on CL i have to start the syphon that way.. happened to me twice haha.

as far as a self ich treatment a large order of macdonalds fries should have enough salt to kill even the salt resistent strains

Yes after many mouth fulls of water, I said F the bucket and siphon and setup automated drain and fill, but before I was able to set that up I used a pump.

This has happened to all of us fish keepers atleast once. YOu'll get the timing down eventually.

I get it once or twice a week, I'm past the retching stage and on to the spitting stage. I won't speculate on the next stage for fear of my post being deleted.
