Mouth full of tank water....

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Use a clear hose so you can see it coming.

it happened to me once, i was clearing my rena filter, and i was running co2 reactor, well the rena was empty of water, even the inlet pipe to the filter was empty, i've tried to fill the hose and fill the small cap of the pipe, but it didn't work.. because the CO2 Reactor was full of water, and the air didn't get out...

So I tried to s.ck the hose, and YAACK! what a taste of planted tank!

I suggest the "python no spill clean and fill". I as well got tired of mouth-fulls of dirty water. Disgusting. But you hook this thing up to your faucet, turn it on, then it sucks out you water, turn a valve and it fills it right back up. I turn my water on lower than it suggests, and mine still works wonderfully, great suction and help's oodles in cleaning my gravel! I LOVE this thing! You may need an adapter if your faucet is weird, but they are cheap. Best part, is that they come in different lengths(100ft), and I clip mine onto the edge of my tank w/ a lamp clamp and I can just leave it to drain. Keep an eye on it just in case! And they have extension thingys if your tank is really tall. And yuck doesn't build up in the tubes. Awesome product.:headbang2

Lol, I know her tank may be the dirtiest ever but I finally learned how to get a siphon going in under 10 seconds. First saw it like 2 years ago. It's hilarious how she takes in as much gravel she can.

Haha I remember watching that video lol. I have never had that happen, because I dont use siphons. When I am filling of emptying a tank, I hook up a power head to the hose, which I have running to create a current from back when my filter was full on DIY. Anyway I hook my 20 foot long hose up to that and turn it on, presto you have an effortless flow of water :) I don't have the desire to taste musk turtle and cichlid water either :P
