Just gonna bump this for my analysis on Fedor seems to be spot on. How 'bout them apples?

Does losing (actually, absolutely destroyed by) to Antonio Silva seem like a relevant figher?

i don't think losing to 2 top ten fighters automatically makes you irrelevant

i can see your point, he has to keep fighting top opponents and win to stay in the top 5 best heavy weights in the world category. but even after this loss, he should still have a low spot in the top ten imo.

but you are wrong about him being irrelevant. he was relevant at the time when you first made that statement, and he still is if he doesn't retire. if your argument was along the lines of "Fedor not being top three p4p, or he will never be champ again or he is on a decline," i would agree or see that there is solid argument there

but to say that he is irrelevant just isn't true.

this is who i think is irrelevant if you wanna look at it: CroCop will never be a top contender anymore. Big Nog, sad but true since i'm a big fan. Andre Arlovski. Tim Sylvia,............

guys like that, but with fedor only losing his last 2 to currently ranked fighters doesn't make him irrelevant

It makes me laugh that you're comparing Nelson to Lesnar. Nelson should start with losing about 50 lbs of fat, then cut 10 to make 205 and fight around 210-215. He's a talented fighter (with great BJJ), but he's somewhat outclassed by HEAVYweights. A clean diet would help him a ton. He clearly has the cardio and drive to be dedicated, he just needs to apply it to dropping weight. It might take a few more losss for him to realize his lean body mass isn't the same as the rest of the big boys in the HW division.

And I assume the Mir/Nelson you're talking about is this one? like... 2003? Really? A grappling tourney? And I'm pretty sure Lesnar put Mir on his back before Nelson did.

And BJJ brown belt means NOTHING about take down defense. BJJ is a fighting style from the ground - top or bottom. Rarely are BJJ skill exhibited on the feet.
Yeah, how bout that Roy Nelson? Really looks like he belongs in the HW division, huh? /rolleyes

I was hoping for Mir to put him to sleep.........Good enough though and can't wait to see it.
