Took the boat out last night to look for flatheads again. still no luck. 2-3 lb channel catfish were taking down 4in+ bluegills. the spot we found was amazing perfect shallow flats outside a creek. but no flatheads atleast hungry ones. the tournament is next saturday, im screwed.

the guys on the upper stretches of the river (separated by more dams and known for better flathead fishing) are only catching small ones. Even the guides are having a hard time finding ones over 10lbs. I might be focusing on channel catfish for the tournament. i figure it all has something to do with the spawn, and unless the spawn ends today ill be focusing on channelcatfish for the tournament. 3 nice channels would definitly put me in the running on this stretch of the river.
The tournament is the 11th and he said that he should be able to get the sinkers to me, if you were still looking for some.

No, I haven't been able to get him on the phone and he isn't responding to my claim on paypal. Not sure what's up. I did find some at a fishing spot I frequent at a mom and pop tackle shop. I knew they had some but when I ordered, there was no trip planned for that drive
6.01 Well awoke this morning and could hardly make a fist. We were on the water by 6:30am and by 11am we only had 13 Bass between us and had been around the lake 3 full times. Normally on this lake by this time we normally each have double digits and or a few lunkers. We were struggling to find the will to stay and fish this lake much longer, plus it was 90F+ by 10am. JerseyJAck nailed 2 Bass within feet of were we put in at, for a total of 15 Bass for this lake. My numbers where low as usual because I fish for quality not quantity, though today there wasn't much in the way of lunkers coming up.
All good things must come to an end, so tomorrow is the end of this - another great trip to Florida. I leave to return to the north on Friday morning and will arrive in time to return too work Friday afternoon

Fish landed-I-12/Bjay(big brother)-5
Like I been saying its just to dam hot for me in the day time ,so after finding out I had no work for Wednesday I went on another night fishing adventure. We started out at 8:30pm and ended at 5am. My shipmate jumped out on 5-3 lead by throwing the inline and the buzzy but I stayed focused with the chatter and before he went to sleep at 1:30am I was up 7-5. Numbers 8 & 9 wasnt nothing to special, just the average size we always seem to catch(14-15'ers) but at 3am number 10 was a monster 5.9
! From there I missed about 8 little guys that shock off before reaching the boat, they were hitting like crazy ! Number 11 was another 14'er and last but not least, number 12 was a monster 4.1 !!!
Night fishing is definitly my thing, plus watching the sun rise is cool as hell !!!!

nice bass CF! do you guys have alot of bugs up that way. my night fishing is beginning to bug me out. temps dropping this week though come friday so at least itll be cool.
jworth, if hes there i will talk to him. Apparently his wife has been diagnosed cancer. If you still want the sinkers i will get them for you and ship them. i dont blame if you if you didnt want to give him any more of your money though, but id def make sure you got them this time though. let me know, remember you get the member price this time too.

Went to Rocking Horse Ranch with my school for an overnight trip. Of course, I had to go fishin, so I brought my collapsible rod with. I was glad I did! The ranch only rented out Bamboo poles and hot dog buns for bait, so the fish would go CRAZY for anything that was moving. I put a #1 Mepps Dressed Agilia on and hit 5-7 LMB in a period of 1 1/2 hours, while no one caught ANYTHING on the bamboo poles. The largest bass was probably only a 1.5 lb'er, but they were fun as heck to bring in, especially when you have 5-10 people fishing near you not catching anything!

Rocking Horse Ranch again, hit up a 1 lb'er before leaving for home. Saw a nice school of carp cruising the shoreline picking up leftover bread in the water, pretty cool to watch 8 lb carp surfacing like crazy!
Later today, also went down to Greenwood Lake for more fishing. It was really windy, but the bluegill and perch were biting strong.
