hey guys i was just wondering your thoughts on using RO water on fresh water cichla tanks.
i was in the process of hooking up a ro system in my garage today and thought about how much water i was gonna be wasting in the ro process 3+ gallons to make one gallon of ro water!!! also ro process removes all minerals good and bad ones
so i think i might sell the ro filter and try a different route of water filtering system.
at the moment i just use prime and tap water.

please let me know what you think

You could use carbon tanks but it will not remove Chlorimine ..Personally i just do weekley water changes as of right now.....

Ya know i am definatly on the fence on this topic even if ya drip 4 to 8 gallons an hour you still have to vac and such if you have gravel witch i do not into the bare bottom myself....I have a 675 gallon two 180's a 65 and 30 gal running right now 5 tanks and i do weekly water changes 50 % on all:nilly:the weekends are busy for sure LOL!!!!

^^^dang hugh, why dont you setup a drip?

I do 240-350gals of wc a week on my 225g. Trying to reduce my stock so i can have more time for me :) one of these days i'll set up a drip.....gotta move first.
