So far I have been feeding my fishes everyday 4-5 different kind of foods. I never over cus all the food gets eaten. Sometimes they are not excited about the food so I feed them less. The next day they seem alot more edcited.so I wanted to know if it's ok to feed them only 3-4 times a week.

depends on the fish from what i've found...
i feed mine flakes in the morning when i get up around ten....and then flakes/pellets around 11pm

One thing most people dont think about when feeding fis is that they are cold blooded. They digest food slower then other animals like humans, dogs, cats. They are more like snakes in that manner. Just cause they do eat doesnt mean they need to eat or even that its healthy. I only feed every other day and my fish are happy and healthy. Just think of a dog that you feed a whole bowl of food, then when he finishes you sit down to eat a steak...... most dogs would still look at you like they havent eaten in days and devour the steak the first chance they got.

Yes, but things like fry and tetras need to eat every day. Like I said, depends on size and species.

Ya, fry is one thing, and some species like sea horses i would agree with, but most fish do not need that much food. the average stomach on a fish is roughly the size of their eye

What he said.

Any fish with a high metabolism should be fed daily, 2-3 times daily would be even more ideal for some species, especially when immature & in their growth stage of life.

Other fish can easily go to an every other day feeding, some to only 2-3 times weekly.Way too many factors involved to generalize what will be an optimum feeding schedule for a fish.

I feed my baby pbass after I get up and before I go to bed, while I feed my datnoid once every other day. It has to do with the type of fish and size
