I never knew plecos are such poop machines! I got a Rhino Pleco in with my festae growouts and he just fills the substrate with poop. It does a good jog cleaning up the leftover and the algae but he just fills the tank with crap !

I tend to over feed my fish so I need a clean up crew. The syno cat I have doesnt come out much and I dont think he really cleans up too good. What other fish can I add to my tank as a clean up crew that would get along with the festae growouts and wont fill my tank with poop ?!?!?!

I know Clown Loaches are great for clean up crews but....would they get along with the juvie festaes and when they grow to adults?

any other suggestions?

Clown loaches can hold their own anywhere as long as what you are keeping them with does not have a mouth big enough to swallow them whole. Pictus cats and Cories are great active cleaners, Rubber nose plecos don't poop much and stay small.

clown plecos also stay small [i had a 14" pleco that was a monstrous poop machine so i know what you mean omg]. there's not too many fish that make a good cleanup crew ,&no fish cleans poop as far as i know, but cories are indeed hard workers. perhaps some [large] snails might help if possible?

I'm thinking on a school on clown loaches. whats with them getting ick easily though?

pleco aka poop machines. Something you should know lol.

My L001 pterygoplichthys joselimaianus pleco is a pretty common sailfin type but has a ton of personality. He jockeys in when it comes feeding time and will on occasionlly head-butt fish for his food and space. Yep he is a poop machine but I still like him.

clown loaches can get ich ridiculously easy but there are things that can be done to avoid it as much as possible, such as proper quarantining for them and all other fish, and UV sterilizers, good water quality, etc. after i lost a shoal to random ich invasion, i got a sterilizer & haven't had any problems since. if it happens, as it likely could, there are lots of threads on medication but i recommend quinine sulfate, just for future reference. :>

Is there a reason why they get ich so easily ?

it usually has to do with the water temperature and water temp/quality changes and introductions of new fish and all- but i honestly have no idea why CLs get ich so easily... i tried looking it up with not much success. they're just notoriously prone to it regardless for some reason D:
