rid of snail?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
..don't add stock to get rid of snails unless you plan on having more snails to feed them later

get a plastic bottle...like a coke bottle.. clean it out really well.

dumps some rocks or gravel in the bottom ..put in some canned green beans..algae wafers zucchini..ext something for bait and let it sink to the bottom of your tank at night

wake up and empty out the snails in it...repeat until snails are gone.

do this when you turn off your lights..and remove it when you turn it on.

to get them out just rinse with warm water and shake it up...and dump them in to the trash..or crush them and feed them to your fish... up to you.

good luck with your snail removal.

Quick Cure or Salt will kill snails.

i don't know about quick cure but...im sure it would take ALOT of salt. iv treated my tank for ick a few times with almost 2xs the recommend dose and my ramshorns and pond snails came out just fine.

I def. think a few clown loaches would help out, snails are really just a snack, and when they are gone, you still have a really good clean up crew.

he said they are small, so chances are they are not pond snails.

I've had much success with both methods on MTS snails.

ahh i meant balder snails but i have no experience in wiping out snails with salt .^_^

iv always used the trap method.

thanks all for the fast reply. i've try all of the above mention, nothing seem to work. at 1 time they would disapear for awhile in the tank, but still live in my sump and canister filter can't reallly get rid of them. now they starting to show up again on the wall of the tank(very enoying to look at).
