recently purchased a 10x4x30 - 750 gallon tank built by tenecor. one of the seam busted open, but since the seller wasnt the original owner i couldnt get it warranty. so the next best thing was to take it to get it fixed by an acrylic shop, that specialized in building and fabricating acrylic. they also use to build tanks for companies.

took the tank to the shop and they told me tenecor decided to use a imported material for the bottom sheet and the glue they use didnt really bond it to the domestic material that was being used for the front, side and back panels, which they said might have been the problem of the bubbling or air pockets.

while he was inspecting the tank more he saw some of the seams that were almost close to being busted open again, so he offered me 2 options of redoing the tank. one is to cut the bottom and redo the bottom which was going to cost about 2600 in labor and material. or reinforcing the bottom with 1 inch square dowels, which was the option i took.

tank wont be done till saturday and im going to polish the whole tank so tank wont be up and running till like august or so.

heres my buddy helping me moved the tank. took 3 people and 3 hrs to move the tank

Wow love the dimensions, sounds like it is going to be a tough project though

let me guess you got this from Volt and this tank had a leak in the back panel to the right if I remember it and he was selling it for a grand ????

wow fixing its is going to be a pain thats why i back out anyway good luck to you bro

not a pain to fix if you know a shop that is reputable. the cost is. tenecor is a good company but for them to use domestic acrylic all around and skimp out on the bottom portion is kind of ridiculous. i would understand a imported acrylic for the top portion as not much water is at the seams, but a imported material on the bottom is just asking for a leak.

Actually it is better they used it on the bottom, if they had to which they shouldn't have. The top piece takes the most pressure to keep things together. Nice tank and I hope the fix works out for you, can't wait to see it set up. For the price they want to fix it, I'd order the acrylic myself and do the job.

That's pretty impressive that you were able to move that with only 3 people. Those dimensions at 1" thick weighs over 820 lbs! That means each of you were lifting 275 lbs. Looking forward to seeing this beast set up. Is it going in your house, or garage? I've been asking everyone on here with big tanks, how they heat them because I'm worried about how much energy is going to take to heat my 770. Have you thought about how you are going to heat it?
