Picked up a new(future) pondmate.. Tigey.. The Tiger Shovelnose.. sheer luck i should say.. went to a breeders and came across chinese high fin banded sharks and a lot of baby RTCs.. was so tempted to pick one more and then i just looked at the next tank and saw a whole lot of TSNs.. been waiting for em for a long time.. so picked one up.. i guess in 8 months time he'll be ready to join the rest..

Guys jus a quick question.. i just posted the video again.. this is from the filter testing.. i'm just concerned bout the water input into the pond after passing through the filter.. the surface agitation is kinda weird and i dont want my aros to freak out.. what can i do about this.. can i fix a longer tube.. so that the delivery tube itself will be underwater.. would this cause too much bubbles etc.. let me know guys.. cheers..

Looks great! Love the enclosure.

I would imagine that running the pipe into the water would greatly help. I don't know if you have ever used a Python, but if you are filling your tank with one and hold it above water it causes a lot of surface agitation, but if you hold it below, then there is a sort of buffer zone that allows the water to slow down and escape les aggressively through the bottom of the tube. Have you throught about a spray bar? Just attach a T joint or something similar with holes drilled in the pipes coming out of the T. You can have it above or below the water level and it should work.

thanks mate :) yes post moving the pipes into the water its pretty decent.. i jus have to move it right to the bottom so the current carries the dirt to the bottom drain.. python? enlighten me.. i did think about the spray bar idea too.. but haven't put it into action.. will update if i do it.. cheers..

Here goes folks.. moved the RTC and Aros in today.. the oscars and pacu sorta gave the RTC a look.. pretty curious they were.. the moment the first Aro went in.. now that was a sight to see.. they were like :WHOA: lets get the hell out of here.. they were all huddled up in a tight ball and looking at them.. the move went pretty smooth.. no injuries nothing.. well enough talking.. have a look at the pics and video.. cheers ppl..
