Purflow, ocean clear mechanical canister

I looked on the champion lighting site and the 100 they advertise it's a pressure pump. I've look at your set up and the water seems low to feed the canister. Question its the canister full of water at all times?, did you bleed the canister? it should be no air.
Yes i did bleed the canister its full at all times no air.
the reason im confused is because the guy who sold me the pump pretends its a pressure pump. when i search blueline 100 online all i find is blueline 100HD that leads me to believe there is no such thing as a blueline 100 that is not HD.
But the way the flow is greatly reduced as soon as i hit 10 psi makes me think my pump aint a pressure pump .

Pipes are 1.5 inches and in last pic. it reduces to 1 inche when it at the bottom of tank.
I calculated my head to be about 17ft without the canister but then again im not sure this is very accurate due to the split of the return.

What model # Ocean Clear canister do you have? Is it the 325 with 25 sq feet of filtering surface area or the 340 with 40 square feet of surface area?
It took me a while to figure out your sump configuration. Is the black pipe a drain for a continuous water change system or something?
So water enters through the top, goes down through the bioballs, goes through the media and is then pumped back to the tank by the blueline through the Ocean Clear?
1) It looks like the blue / white media is backwards. Shouldn't the coarse blue media come before the white fine media?
2) Shouldn't there be some kind of pre-filter / filter sock before the bio balls to keep all the poop out of the bio balls?
3) Have you considered adding a filter on the intake of the pump inside the sump? Something like a sponge or something that is easy to clean to catch the big stuff before it hits the Ocean Clear?
4) If that black pipe is a drain could you plumb the Ocean Clear to be reversed flushed like a swimming pool filter? This would be a lot quicker maintenance than removing the filter cartridge.
I have been running a 12" Big Blue cartridge filter after my sump in a similar configuration to yours and get about a week before having to clean the cartridge. I just ebayed a Ocean Clear to hopefully extend the time between filter cleanings.

Holly poop catchers... that is a lot of filtration! Me thinks you just have lots of poop to deal with!

1- water enters the sump by 2 x 2inches overflow
2-then it goes tru the coarse prefilter ( yes its reversed i just put that there yesterday cuz i changed the configuration as i removed the canister cartrige yesterday )
3-then it goes tru the ceramic rings and matrix
4-tru the pump to the purflo mech filter
5- water start returning to tank but some is sent up to the sprinkler to the bioballs ( picture 4 )
As far as putting a filter on the intake of the pump . Yes im thinking about that .
Not sure about doing too much changes of the piping works cuz gluing new pipes makes me nervous for the long term health of my fishes

How about a bag of Walmart $3.99 quilt stuffing / filter floss packed under / beside the bio rings and around the inlets to the pump?
I missed the double stack purflo in your original pictures but see it now. 70 sq feet is a lot of filter area!
If you could put a T between the Purflo outlet and the valve you could back flush the filter. Connect a garden hose to the T, close the valve, turn the hose on, blast the crud back through the pump into the sump and out through the continuous drip drain in the sump?
My thought being that it doesn't look like you are going to be able to extend the time between filter cleanings by much so make the cleaning process as easy as possible.... ???
