WOW ... Gorgeous
Nice Jose, wish I had the skills to make a tank like that xD
nice frys!
Ewwww those discus are ugly. I think I'd get a head ache if I had to look at all those colours everyday.
No plants for this tank. Looks awesome anyway.
I really like your aquarium and stand. I'm going to try and build a stand like yours for a 55. What are you calling whiteboard? I never heard of any lumber called that. I tried googling it and came up with dry erase boards. Someone said they saw lumber labeled as whiteboard at a lumberyard, but weren't sure what it was. They had never heard the term either. I guess it's a regional thing.
Your tank is really something to be proud of.
Dude, of all the tanks I've seen on here you seem to own the nicest ones. I have a question though, what do you do to the manzanita before putting in the tank? Are you pressure washing the bark off? I put a piece in my tank with the bark on ( I dried it out for months ) and the bark looked like it grew a fungus or something, but my pleco loved it. Anyway awesome tank as usual!
love the setup
This is a very impressive tank. I'm in the process of rebuilding my 125G discus tank and your tank is very inspiring. I just may be hitting you up about your lighting if you don't mind.
amazing
Love the set-up. Makes me wonder where this tank building will end. I too built a smaller Discus tank and have had to deal with a particular bug once so far, but after getting the tank sorted (graduated from 72 to 150 gallon tank), and then the lighting (from Flourescent to LED), now I am considering adding the other fish appropriate for this type of biotope. I attempted to add 15 Neon Tetra's while I had 5 Angel fish in the tank, and the Angel's single-handedly killed all 15 neons's over the course of 3 days. Now that the Angels are out (moved to my work tank). I am considering adding Cardinal Tetra's.
I also did a recent read-up on "whisker shrimp" which I believe you mentioned a few pages back and it seems they can grow to be a big nuisance - very aggressive, territorial and can be up to 1 ft in length. Also, the whisker shrimp can take out slow moving fish (like when Discus sleep) if given the opportunity. Any input on your experience thus far?
I was curious if you got them with the intent of keeping them as the tank designated "garbage collectors" to assist in tank maintenance. If not any thoughts on some other alternate options. I have a build up of beef heart that always gets left over and it would be great if my tank had a garbage collector to assist.
Thanks.
