Looks like a Red Hook Silver Dollar to me

trust me bros, if this is a simple red hook silver dollar, i wouldn't have asked for an ID. my red hooks have developed their distinctive red patches at 7 inch. this guy is already 9 inches and clean. also, its body colour is silverish black, not the glossy silver. its hook is also black instead of red. i got 2 of them in my comm swimming with my other myleus....

hook fin isn't the right shape to be red hook IMO.

Ive got 3 red hooks and not all have developed red spots on them. One has a hook just like yours that has just that little extra bump on the hook portion. I think of them all as regular red hooks.

That could actually be a thick barred silver dollar (blue hook) Myleus scombergki please excuse spelling. Does it have a black bar running down its side especially after a water change?

this fish is more black than silver, the coloration is similar to that of a black diamond piranha.

nope, its not a blue hook, the mouth structure is different also. 1 thing i do notice is that its coloration is turning darker and darker.

Maybe it's a silver dollar hybrid?
