So, today my boyfriend bought me a 9-10" wolf fish from a LFS for $45. Good deal?? Looks like a nice fish, good colors. Any specific pointers on how to care for it? I know they get large, and are very predatory, It is in a tank with my 8" Jaguar cichlid.

Ok, here are pictures :P
I've had him almost 2 full days now. He started eating frozen silversides this afternoon. Unfortunately my Jag ripped a few of his fins, but it does not look like major damage. Nothing some high protein food and clean water wont heal. Please, anyone with advice, I love him, and I've been reading on Wolf Fishes, but tell me something the run of the mill websites dont say!! Thanks!

Looks mischievous, very nice

be carefully, if the wolf sense's fear in the jag, and they are the same size it may be game over for that jag. my old wolf would sit around and got beat up by a bowfin and a redtail cuda at the same time, got pissed off and killed them both in a night. he was smaller then the two as well. I loved my old wolf. i think he killed around 4-5 fish. lol he lived up to his name which was champ. he was such a badass he even killed him self but jumping out of the tank lol.

but i would say they could be fine. nice wolf. enjoy him they are badass fish to have, i will be getting another soon.

ha ha thats a great story

nice wolf fish!

i had a 10 inch jag rip the throat out of a 9 inch wolf, then 2 weeks later my 6 inch wolf killed the jag. They are a bad mix all together because they demand space and hate sharing tanks
