Im pround to have enough knowledge to say putting a RTC in a 250 gal uncycled kiddie pool would be dangerous. This site need to be more responsibily as it promotes itself to be a source of information for larger aquatic fish, do you realize the impact it could have if barracuda but his RTC in an uncycled tank like WILDFYA suggested? Will you take responsibility, that how these fish die and get gill curl off of bad advice.

So all you're doing is starting threads saying you have an idea that isn't a good one just to see what people tell you. That way if they don't say it's a bad idea then you can insult them? Even if you were going to do something like that it's unfair to say a 250 gallon and link to some thing 10 times as big. If someone assumes you did a typo and looks at how big that pool is and says it'll be fine then you're just being mean for no reason. Not to mention taking advantage of someone's helping whether the advice they give is right or wrong just to prove a point is low. I will admit as of late there are a lot of people that want to attack and talk down to people when they come in here asking questions that are a bad idea instead of just be helpful in a nice manner, so you aren't alone. Please try and be a good person from now on.

do me a favor call your local pool store and ask for their cheap 150$ kiddie pool to put you 3' MF's......tell me what they say, because im a licensed contractor and im pretty sure it will be laughter followed by a click*

An RTC shouldnt be bought before the tank....end of story

My local pool store loved the idea!! they are also excited to sell them to aquarist now, and told me to tell you thanks.:hitting:

Oh my goodness, what rock did this guy come from?

An uncycled kiddie pool is just as bad for a fish(RTC) as an uncycled tank is so this thread is pointless

If you guys didn't know, he despises this site. He only makes these threads to mock people. He's been trolling for a while now.. :banhim:

Spyder, you have got to be kidding me. You can't even house a RTC for life, yet you're still keeping one in hopes that someone with the proper tank size will come along and adopt it. The fact that you brought one home does NOTHING to stop people from selling RTC's. And to answer your question from your other threads, Yes you can cycle a tank in less than a month. I do it all the time. Its called established filter media, read up on that.

And you called me a troll? LOL I love this site, so I once in a while go in the different subforums and I always spot your threads. I highly doubt that mod that you spoke to gave you false advice. And if he did, so what? You knew better. It's better to educate than ridicule. Stop wasting peoples time and just stop trolling.

ok sure? As Im a general contractor and know for sure that is false. If my 2 yearold son can rip a kiddie pool, Im sure a monsterfish could. This is the problem with this site people can lie and post what ever they like

first off you can utilize the ignore member ooption and do not need to stalk my threads\post. 2nd off are you critizing me for taking in that RTC and paying for its surgery!!!!!! I have 2 100 gal tanks, 350 gal aboveground pond and a 1700 gallon pond. So yeah I can house this fish but prefer try and out it up for adoption.

As for the cycle, I dont play games with my MF's fish's health thus I do a fishless cycle everytime to make sure it can handle their high bio loads. Yeah i konw established media will help the cycle, but most people dont always have established media just sitting around the house for a 250 gal tank ROFL. Fishless cycle is what EVERyONE CAN DO and is the way to go for monster fish, you cant argue that!!! Unless you want to waste money on cycle products.

I dont hate this site, just the irresponsibility with lack of consiquence. YOU ARE A TROLL, not me. As every post I write has info and fact, that last 4x you posted was just to make drama and put in no useful knowledge. If you dont have somthing usefull to add to the debate then dont post. A troll is someone who post on others threads relentless, LIKE YOU. You can respond but I will now utilize the ignore member option.:nilly:

OK setting aside that this guy is just trolling, I am curious...

I have seen people use pools as tanks in the past, so I know it is possible... but is it really an acceptable tank? I know that species, etc. would come into play here but just generally, with proper filtration is a pool alright to use?
