Monster filtration.... for my 10 gallon?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thanks for input all, will look into it.. no Fx5's though lol...

Carsona, that looks pretty kool, may definately try it :)

And Redear, I understand that one should not be kept in a 10gal, perhaps if I did a good job on the tank and made it look real nice, the landlord would let me upgrade. And isn't being in a super filtered highly maintenanced 10gal better than being in a dirty, overcrouded tank filled with incompatible tank mates at WALMART just a wee bit better for the fish? I think so lol.. this is gonna be my only fish for a while. I'm gonna take good care of my little buddy

Am I right? Lol.. feedback please? And I was thinking of buying an AC 150/30 for 10-30g tanks or the AC 200/50 for 20-50g tanks. Would that be too powerful for my 10?

It looks nice but I'm not looking to spend that much on it. I like the ACs because they're cheap, <$30 is what I'm seeing. And I had an AC 110 and it worked great.

"monster filtration" rarely comes cheap. The AC route sounds like a great one. If you ever want a dead silent filter that will out life you, maybe consider them Eheim down the road.

Yeah, I know how that is. I'm just looking for something simple, maybe I'll get the AC and my Topfin 30 both on there. Sounds like enough to me :)

Overkill IMHO is only really good on big tanks with big fish, overkill on small tanks leads to massive current and with such a small fish that could be really stressful.

but would more hob filter's really supply that much more bb? I've never had a goldfish, but I hear they produce a ton of ammonia. Your gonna need some serious biological filtration
