Where is this post at?

'kiddie pool' no matter the type, will give the RTC better chances of growth, as well as avoiding toxic levels of ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate. As you stated, it would take a month to cycle a tank/pond of that size. This is just plain false"
WILDFYA

, but im not allowed to discuss this further or critize the post

OK setting aside that this guy is just trolling, I am curious...

I have seen people use pools as tanks in the past, so I know it is possible... but is it really an acceptable tank? I know that species, etc. would come into play here but just generally, with proper filtration is a pool alright to use?

I personally think that nothing should be used over the manufactures suggestions. I really cant understand how saving 100$ is worth the risk of your house flooding and fish dying. Is it worth 100$ to not have subsrate, plants, or other fish in the tank not to me. Pool liner rip ALL THE TIME, especially cheap 1's.

They are plenty of above ground ponds with in the 300$ range.

I thought this thread would die already...unfortunately for us it didn't. Spyder, seriously enough is enough. Yes we can ignore your post that is if it was just one post. How many threads are you up to now? The last thing Im going to say on this issue is maybe you got some bad advice here, wouldn't be the first time, wont be the last. As you say you are an experienced fish keeper, you would realize that you would need to research mutliple locations/sites to ensure you are getting the best information possible. Best of luck to you but give it a rest.

What is the point of this thread? Are you trying to bait for bad advise?
Drama queens this site is for True fish enthusiasts and not high school type "I know more than you" bs.
For any real members out there kiddie pools are not to be considered permanent homes for any long lived species of fish.

Just because i dont agree with the kiddie pool idea, who knows someone might say "I found this one kiddie pool to be highly reliable and have used it for years" and prove me wrong. I wanted the community ideas, not all this melodrama

It wasnt that I got bad advice, Its that someone else got deadly bad advice from an admin which then abused her power to make sure no one could right her wrong. Thats my problem....
