I almost ordered a 96x24x24 glass aquarium from glasscages.com but decided against it after reading all the bad reviews of poor quality and horrible customer service.

I have decided to go acrylic and am between Casco(Sea Clear), Tenecor and Tru-Vu. All are within a few 100 dollars of each other and I was wondering if anybody had any input on these tanks, or if you have other companies to consider.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also what size sump is needed for a 96x24x24 freshwater aquarium???

I have had a glasscages 300g tall and I liked it. It was well built and heavy as hell. Its no show tank with the way they do the bracing but I built it into a wall and it looked great. I now have a Tenecor 750g I like it a lot too except for the fact it scratches just by looking at it. It seems to be well built There are a couple things I dont like about it. There are some air bubbles in the seams which from what I have read is normal to have some, And I have a lot of crazing on the corners now. I dont know what causes this. Most people looking at the tank wont notice it but I stare at it every day.

I would think you would need an 80g sump for a 240g tank. I have always heard 1/3 the tank's volume. A 75 would probably be close enough. I bought a used Sea Clear 240g, and it seems to be pretty well made. The acrylic isn't as thick on the bottom and top as on my other acrylic tank. Good luck with your purchase :)

Check out atm in Las Vegas depending on your spending budget there definitely the best I would say....They even have there own tv show lol...

1+ on the glass cages aquarium. I had a 300 gallon glass tank for many years and nevered has an once of trouble out of it. Rock solid build that for sure. Never had issues with customers service either for that matter. Everytime i called with questions or to order suction cups, they were always prompt on pricing and call backs.
I guess ATM is the new hot thing going now, but with the fame they will be receiving after that show airs for then next few months, I am sure they will command a pretty penny

I don't know why everybody is hating on glasscages. Maybe they've had some issues with customer service - I don't know. When I ordered my 300 gallon tank, I gave them the specs that I wanted and let them do their thing. In three weeks I contacted them for an update and it was shipped the next week. As for quality, there's some minor issues like some silicone coming out of the top rim and a few silicone spots on the glass, but it wasn't hard to cut and clean off.

I guess I don't know what the definition of a show tank is, but mine looks pretty nice. Sure, the bracing is a lot, but that makes me comfortable it won't come apart. And the canopy will cover that anyway...

And if you're in TN, shipping should be cheap. Don't know where else you could get a 300 gallon glass tank with starphire glass for around $1500...
