hit em hard last night, this 28" 9lb 11oz channel as well as about 30 other channels got a free lip peircing last night from me. many in 5-8lb range. lost another one about this size at the pier, stupid concrete weakened my line after the fish before tried to run under it and rubbed the line. Going back tonight, looking for that 10lber. it was weird after using live bait all night, the only flathead i was able to get was a tiny one (2ish lb) on cut bait. The marina next to the pier put in more lights this year, im wondering if they can see em and are scared off.

you and your obscene amounts of catfish.... great catch :P

Are all you guys unharmed from the Tornado? No damage to your house, car or boat?

fortuantly we didnt get hit very hard and all is well, power went out for a few hours but that was it. thanks for asking though.

I HIT EM HARD LAST NIGHT!

i got to thinking about those stupid lights, so i moved to the other side of the pier where we never catch anything and fished the edge of the channel the best i could. holy ****. lost count again. So many fish. 3 over 10 lbs (1 channel and 2 flathead personal best), 2 over 8lbs (1 Channel and 1 flathead) which were the last 2 fish of the night, and too many over 5lbs to count, alot of 7's. This has been an amazing 2 days. cant believe its back to school thursday. hopefully i get to go back tonight for one last go around. Even caught a brokeback mountain flathead. Even had a fish take a rod off the pier, pulled the rod down hard and before i could get to it, it took a flying leap off the pier. =[

Glad to hear nothing sirious happend.
is the potomac river flooded?,because European newschannels are showing a lot of flooded rivers and damaged houses and I am curious of this also happend with the potomac.
I'f so,then Northern Snakehead will spread to more waterways.

nice dreams!! glad to see ya get after them. I found a new spot and lost 2 in 2 nights and landed none! last night, got the best run of the year. circle hook seemed to set great. Fought this fish for a minute probably about 40 feet out. Got it next to the bank but theres a steep drop off and didn't see it. The SOB got off at the bank. The guy I was with had the net ready and everything. Heaviest and hardest fighting flatty I have ever hooked into. Really disappointed.

the potomac river as well the susquehanna (the river i fish) and many other rivers are all tributaries to the chesapeake bay. Snakesheads will spread eventually to all the water ways as they are all connected. the next river over from mine had a snakehead caught in it earlier this year, most likely from human transport in my opinion. the snakehead is not a threat and merely a misplaced and misunderstood creature. The tidal potomac were the snakeheads are is still thriving and is a great fishery. many people who catch them say they are great fighters and eating, they should be embraced.

As far as rivers flooding = not so much, the water is up but nothing that will cause any danger to anyone

Sorry to here that jworth, i hate losing fish especially when you know its a big one. had a run last night on an 8" green sunfish but the hook got pushed back into the bait and never caught the fish.

Caught 2 channels and 2 flatheads tonight. 7lb 6oz flattie on a big bluegill head, and a 9lb 7oz flattie on a bullhead catfish. Never had any luck on bullheads before but i will always put one out from now on when i got them, let my girlfriend reel that one in. her biggest fish ever SO PROUD :D
