almost bought a devil that looked as nice as yours but the guy was unable to keep with fish in a 300 so i figured my 75 and 150 wouldnt have a chance

Tell me whats bland about this guy. Awesome colors

Compared to Flowerhorns, thats bland :P I still don't think yours looks as nice as Dannys, just my opinion. But I do still appreciate the Trimac.. Since it is the basic component of most Flowerhorns.

ok, understood. You were comparing the appearance of a trimac to something unnatural and manufactured when describing it as "bland." That makes sense.

While Trimacs are colorful, there are Trimac-based strains of flowerhorns that are more colorful.

While Trimacs are aggressive, there are Trimac-based strains of flowerhorns that are more aggressive.

While Trimacs can have big humps on their heads, there are Trimac-based strains of flowerhorns that can have bigger humps on their heads.

One can (selectively) line breed Trimacs to be more colorful, aggressive and have bigger heads, or one can hybridize them with other, closely related species that have these desired characteristics and get more dramatic results.

That's kinda the point of flowerhorns, as I understand.

The degree of naturaility of fish (i.e. only wild fish, only wild and F1 fish, pet shop fish, line bred fish, hybrids) that one chooses to keep in their glass boxes is a different question than whether a fish is colorful or not.

Nicely said.

While I can't disagree with any of the points Matt made, most elaquently I might add. You will still not generally get a warm and fuzzy reguarding hybrids on this side of the hallway. That's why they were given their own room. ;)
