Not sure what you mean by "most are bland," but you may be referencing the displaying female of the pair, rather than the male?
Further, I am not sure what you are comparing trimacs to, but the species would probably rank more towards colorful, than that of other CA species.
But everybody has their opinion.
I actually agree with the guy calling them "bland". Never really cared much for trimacs except when they are breeding. A single male or female isn't even "colorful" in my eyes. A breeding pair on the other hand is one of the most beautiful sights. Odd how my eyes go 180 like that.
I personally only keep fish that are vibrant reguardless of breeding activities or not. To each his own though
A similar fish, the Lyonsi on the other hand is just stunning 24/7 to me.
they are far from bland. it all depends on who you get them fish from. Ive seen bland lyonsi and trimac but ive also seen ones that i would sell everything to have. My trimac and lyonsi are both from rapps so im expecting nothing but great things
C'mon please a Trimac is about as bland as a Picaso. Danny that's one hell of a beautiful fish. I personally love Trimacs and are and have always been at the top of my list of favorite Amphilophus and CAs in general.
@Aquanero Man that RD in ur avatar is sick! How big is he now? Awesome color very intense. As for the Trimacs, one of my favorites.
Thanks Danny, Psycho is just over 12" TL he's starting to bluk up more now and he's length hasn't changed much. I thought that looked like a Conkel Trimac he does have some nice ones. A few vendors on here sell them.
