My new large wild male Festae

It sounds like you're really into Festae. Would love to see pics of the whole crew...and congrats on the spawn. Btw my female is a rescue too that I had to get healed but she turned out beautifully. :)

Festae are by far my favorite cichlid. I got out of the hobby for a few years partially due to travelling with a previous job and partially due to Hurricane Katrina. It took be almost a yeaf after getting back into it to acquire festae and some of the first ones I was able to get had the humps which I belive was due to inbreeding. I've heard of wild imports trickling in recently, some were Peruvian and they sold out very quickly. There are only 4 of the smaller wild caught festae left at my local LFS, I belive he sold over 20 in 1 day and all the ones left are spoken for. I have around 20 festae, spread over several tanks and of various sizes and bloodlines. I always try to pair fish that ik came from different sources to keep gene pool diverse. Im djing on bourbon street right now, but I will post pics of my collection and my 14 year old festae tattoo that is still as bright as ever. Im really excited about this large male and my rio tumes acquisition, combined with my spawn is been a good week for a festae geek...

He said they sold out in an hour, speaking of the large ones. I got some of the small ones from him on Tuesday. They came in in great shape and Dan was great to deal with.

BTW, I found out my large wild male is presumed to be Equadorian
