REALM OF THE UMBEE
Whats up MFK Fam! Here is a quick update on my Gorilla Umbriferum A.K.A. Caqeutaia Sp. Gorillus A.K.A Red Freckled Monster A.K.A Black Umbee, That I collected. I am currently working with two pairs. One out of the two pairs I successfully spawned while the other pair are nesting at the moment. However I got them to live peacefully together which was not an easy task. This fish is no different from the blue Umbriferum as far as personality and aggression goes. This fish is very strong, not shy and eats like a sumo wrestler.:grinno:
The Reds on them are insane, hence the name red freckled monster I have given them. It is not clear if this fish is a new color variant of Umbriferum or a new species. It is not for me to determine, however I am very thrilled to be the first to collect them for this amazing hobby and to share them to you all. I have plans on returning to Colombia to collect and explore more parts of this beautiful country to see what else may be out there. Well with that said, here are two short videos of my Gorillus pairs. THESE ARE NOT FROM CHOCO. Enjoy!:)

Nice umbees man...music is good but in this case, I think it could do without lol. I would of much rather heard your water movement from your powerheads or some kind of water movement rather than the music (cuz its kinda soothing to hear water movement and it correlates with the fish). I guess there is a mute button though for those people who dislike it. Just my opinion, anways, nice vids and umbees! :)

Well first off you are right about the music and that it is just your opinion and there is a mute button :ROFL:Secondly, in this case the music talks and is appropriate from the last post;)

Fantastic Umbees Chris!!:headbang2:headbang2 I would love to see the verdict of the scientific aspect once you get it finished, but either way this is your find and everyone know who collected them. I have always given you props on these new finds along with Location X and Z. Keep up the great work!!

Very, very nice. Music was spot on. :headbang2 I pm'ed you a while back regarding them, did you not get it. Keep up the good work. I would love to take a trip one of these days. Weather its with you or whomever. Just want to feel the rush of catching some wild species. Certainly jealous.

Umbeeking your two pairs are beautiful! How large are your two males and what do you feed them? Thanks for sharing and I look forward to seeing more videos of them.

Thank you all for the positive feedback! These guys are a joy to have and are extremely inquisitive. Fearless, will even approach my hand when I put it in the tank to change the decor. The male in the first video is 19inches and the second male around 17inches. These guys eat everything under the sun.:) I feed them cichlid exceel pellets, massivore pellets and fresh market tilapia. UMBEEPOWERRRRR!!!
