Dream place to live?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Most anyone who says Hawaii has never lived there. I handled it for two years, but that was long enough, three years was too long.

Stay away from the Pacific Northwest...it's a terrible place. Too much rain and smelly hippies. ;) Really though, there is no where else I'd rather live. British Columbia, Western Washington, Northwest Oregon, or Western Montana. East of the Cascades can be pretty nasty.

Dan, who is that girl in the first few pics? I'll take a few of those. Otherwise I need tropical, Caribbean locations to keep my headaches at bay, plus they're much more beautiful than anyplace here in the US. When I take my next vacation in spring I will be looking at ways to keep me there so I won't ever have to come back.

.Texas is OK to visit.( if you like guns and the heat anyway)

If Colorado had the mindset of Texas, that would be my dream home.
I'd like Alaska I think. But until retirement, I think NC is the best.

But really, anything that has mountains, and snow, is in the USA, and allows common sense gun laws instead of communistic restrictions that only hurt the law abiding citizen not the criminal, is fine by me.

That would be my wife. :headbang2

I love tropical places for vacation, but I wouldn't want to live there year-round. Too darned hot...

Dan I couldn't agree more, you're making me jealous! Where you are in OR does it normally get that much snow? Because I know Coos Bay doesn't get much if any. I also agree tropical places are nice to visit, but too hot to live in ;). I get headaches and the cold rainy weather keeps them at bay. I love rain, thunderstorms, and snow. Also, I am originally from Nebraska. I've been in Southern NJ for about 12 years. And before that I was in NC, of which they used to shut down school when it got too cold because they were afraid kids wouldn't have the clothes for the cold weather! At least when I was there.

Miami, FL

I'm not a big fan. Been in Miami 3 years. What you see on vacation and TV isn't even close to what it's like living here. It's dirty, crap for traffic (I've been in places with some CRAP traffic), expensive and people are rude.

I agree. I loved the upper Midwest. Someday, I'd love to head back to Minnesota. I enjoyed living there.
A couple pics from out last trip up to the lake cabin a couple months ago.

SoCal..especially a few decades ago

I hate snow and humidity

took the words right outta my mouth dude

i hate extreme cold and extreme heat and extreme humidity. my wife is from minnesota and the winters can start from october all the way to like march or something like that. then they have humid summers and mosquitos. i'd be miserable living up there. the only awesome thing would be the fishing.

i love socal because everything is within an hour drive. we got beaches, theme parks, snow in the mountains if you want it, parks, lakes for fishing.

Lake Tahoe, SLO, Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, Hawaii, Boca Raton...

My list goes on forever. I wanna stay in California or move to Florida. Those are the only states I would want to live in. Love the sun and beaches.

i been in socal since 82, you may think the city of angels is a lovable place and it could be but i'd never live there. i prefer to be more inland and only go there when i want to but that's just me.

hmm I am gong to go against everyone.... I love FL.... Yes its hot.... but I am used to it. I love exploring FL and how different it is going from South FL to Central and then to North FL. I love it here! I also love exploring the different water areas around here. I could not have asked for a better place to live.
