Dream place to live?

i know its a lil small but besides the bad gas, uranus is pretty good

But yeah, that looks like my perfect place there, Dan! I was planning on taking some road trips when I go back in July for my cousins wedding. I was actually hoping to aim for Mt. Hood as I've always wanted to climb it and I am an avid outdoors and mountaineering person. Luckily I can stand where I live for the time being. I am in a country area where cows still cross the road in NJ, but only 40 minutes from Philly.

My front yard.

you know, because of all the bad jokes about that planet, they are gonna actually and officially change the name of Uranus to get away from all the disrespectful jokes.

they're gonna name it Urectum

Mt. Hood doesn't really get the respect it deserves as far as mountaineering goes. I hope you're pretty experienced! Hood has over 130 deaths, while the larger and "harder" Rainier only has 58.

I'm pretty outdoorsy but will stick with St. Helens until I can get some more mountaineering experience.

That because you guys like your guns concealed:nilly: Dumbest laws I have ever seen! Who thought it would be a good idea to let guns into bars? I am waiting for the new law allowing Elementary and Middle school kids to carry!

I'm not a big fan. Been in Miami 3 years. What you see on vacation and TV isn't even close to what it's like living here. It's dirty, crap for traffic (I've been in places with some CRAP traffic), expensive and people are rude.

I agree. I loved the upper Midwest. Someday, I'd love to head back to Minnesota. I enjoyed living there.
A couple pics from out last trip up to the lake cabin a couple months ago.

Good point Ash. I prefer North FL to down here... but the wildlife is cool when you can find it. Just have to look in places people haven't crowded into yet.

Speed bumps...er.... manatees.

i agree completely, i live just north of fort lauderdale and i persoanlly hate south florida, and can not wait to get out of here. it would be nice on a vacation, and the vacation commercials make it look great but day to day life is a PIA. people are rude, traffic sucks, there is little sympathy towards others. i personally would love to move to a more wilderness part of florida (northern florida), but ultimatly i want to end up in Tenn...

although i love how intergrated the wildlife is down here, i can walk into my back yard and see alligators, catch P. bass and LMB, catch snakeheads (i do kill them) and with a short drive, i can see manatee's, sharks, and fish for pretty much any saltwater species. for the most part we pretty much live in a wildlife sancuary. i will miss that, but mainly its the day to day aspect that is driving me away. the weather is pretty bad too. hot for 11 moths a year, the it gets to 75* during the day for about a week then right back up to hot

yea I don't live as far south as either of you so I don't share the same issues. As for getting cold weather... where I am at last year we were down into the teen's for a few weeks and had a good few months of pretty cold weather (to FL standards). I actually don't find my location to be to bad, there is a nice breeze most of the time so it does not always feel so terrible out. When I lived in Orlando, it def. felt much hotter, I like living kinda close to the bay/coast area - a few degrees and even a light wind makes a huge difference. People are nice too. I think North FL would be a nice place to live. =] Its beautiful up there!

I do agree I have lived in Jupiter, had family in West Palm and been to Miami and I can't say I would move there. I feel the same way about it as well.
