Just to keep this thread going, I would say that those you listed were both brownbanded. This here i think is a grey. Concerning juvenile coloration patterns. I've seen 5 inch angles with juvenile patterns and 3 inch ones of the same species with adult patterns. It is a minor criteria in making the ID. Now look at the physical characteristics of the fin structure and placement.

Photo you posted of grey- I think its a brownbanded

Now pic of what I believe is a grey.

Looking at that, I'm second guessing myself.
I can't find a pic of what I had in mind, so I drew (sorry it sucks) out what I was thinking. I was thinking the the brown bandeds all had somewhat of the detached doral, with the 'loose' trailing edge, and the greys lacked the 'loose' trailing edge at all - having a more dramatic verticle seperation.

Thanks you guys. I think the I told you so party is going to start soon but now I see why having this size shark it really needs a larger sandbed. I'm still not sure what I plan on doing but in the near future it will not be in my tank. It's not fair to the animal to keep it in such a small tank depth wise and I don't think my wife would be keen on a pool in the garage for it. Anyone in washington is welcome to grab it for what I paid.

.... He also suggested to only feed it 1 good heavy meal a week and two smaller meals. He said that he fed the shark a krill or dead fish every day but got the good meal once a week. I'm definately not going back to this LFS again after this issue.

Forgot to say something about this part. You're right for not listening to the feeding advice. Young sharks like this do best with small meals daily... maybe 6 days a week with one fasting day. 1 pc of krill doesn't count as a meal for them.

I have moved a few big fish and I did what Matt said.I used a big wet towel to throw over it and it really calms down the fish.Another thing is I take out everything in the tank and cut 2" foam for the end glass at both ends to keep it from hurting itself.I know you have already moved the shark but this is for people who need a good net,I got a awesome net from Wal-Mart in the sport fishing dept. It's a big,big net made out of a soft rubber.I have have great luck with it, even moving a arapaima close to 3'feet.

I picked up some squid rings at the asian market yesterday and he loves them. I was going to buy some fresh octopus as well but they didn't have anything smaller than an 8lb one...LOL

I also just got some PraziPro to dose the tank for his parasite that some were noticing. From what it appears to me is it's very similar to Melafix but I'm going to dose with the PraziPro first and see how it goes.

The difference between the two is that the stains on his side fins Punctatum and the griseum not.

That the second bovenvin a difference, when they Punctatum same size and the griseum not, is smaller.
