could have bumped its eye on the slate. keep things clean, keep up the water changes. should help.

Looks like an injury, bad water usually affects both eyes. Had a redbay snook with the same type injury, just kept in pristine water and it healed up to 99%, left just a pinhead sized scar.
Yeah the snook was in my overcrowded SA/CA tank so she was removed to a hospital tank and got daily 50% w/cs. Not sure if that was necessary though, seemed like it cleared in a few days so I never medicated.
being as the eye protrudes slightly, any flat surface could have been the culprit. i say the slate because it is right by where the fry are, and the fish are guarding the fry. plus, the slate has a rough surface to abrade the eye.
