Considering sand where to buy and how much

think it would be ok to use beach sand from lake michigan or would there be to many chemicals?

As someone suggested Lapis Lustre sand is that stingray safe and where can I buy it

I use silica sand, bought it from a local store which sells pools and hot tubs, $5 for 75 lb bag, I put 150 lbs in my 150 g and 75 in my 55g, I rinsed it in 5 gallon buckets before i put it in the tanks

yeah i thought about pfs but i was reading somewhere that silica is not good for rays

I have bought playground sand from HOME DEPOT many times in the past for my large aquariums.......I decorated my 8 foot 180 with sand from HOME DEPOT for under $20-30................Sand is really cheap at HOME DEPOT.....................

I'm looking for Lapis Lustre sand... Play sand isn't my thing sorry... And yes I'm aware that HOME DEPOT has play sand, just about everywhere has the stuff

I just bought 150 pounds of lapis lustre from a local sandblasting supplier. It was $15. Look for a local distributor. Mine had all different grades and even loaded it into my truck for me.

Dang that's awsome what grade did you go for I found a website that sells the stuff went to order it and had no clue about the sizes and what not so i decided to wait and ask around a bit lol. Do you have it I'n your tank yet? If so I'd love to see how it looks
