Are STs breeding in captivity now?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The way to distingues ST & CT is the bars on the tail. CT hav tails much like indo which is two sep small bars on the end of tail. True ST is only 1 single small bar at the end & second to last small bar connected to larger bar. Its confusing yes i kno. I mean a fish is a fish. If u like it, just buy it no matter what it is. I spoke to some guy in thailand thats in the aquarium industry, he said CT r hand picked indos that sell in the market as ST to inexperience datnoid buyers.

I been doing research on ST. so far, theres no confirmation that theres captive bredingi

What is the difference in price for the dats? How much does the ST with ST tail marking go for and how much does the ST with IT tail marking go for?

I was once offered by my supplier to buy his 10" ST for $1000. I passed for now one day when I get a larger tank worth keeping a load of them in

some CTs look very convincing with near ST looking tails its really difficult to tell now days

Yeah but what is Siamese Tiger? It's just a common name that causes confusion, along with CT, VT, etc.
Neither the fish or the name causes confusion. Only the person causes all kind of confusion.. Once there is Pulcher or ST! Then there's some person who thinks only Chao Praya datnoid is Pulcher, and others are not, thus here come CT and VT. A pulcher is a pulcher whether it comes from Thailand, Cambodia, or Vietnam. Until it's officialy re-classified like IT, there's only either Pulcher or Microlepis..

Unless you're one of those pretentious fishkeeping snobs that collects fish and treats them as a status symbol, as opposed to those who simply keep fish for the love of, well, fish :)
Is that why you dumped your pbass over an arowana?

Actually, I dumped by pbass because I didn't feel it was right to cram them in a small tank and they were getting too big. Too bad the same can't be said for you with JDM tanks. I enjoy aquariums for the aesthetics and I keep fish because I love fish. That is why I have angels and tetras now in a 190g. I don't need to buy huge tanks and stuff them wall-to-wall full of rare and expensive fish to show off the size of my bank account and get my ego stroked by the MFK sack-riders. You do your thing, I'll do mine.

And your comments about Pulcher, you're preaching to the choir, just so you know.

Oh please! Then why bother to PM me a picture of your arowana? "Aesthetics... love fish..." Are those sleeping pills you take nightly? People who loves fish, won't judge a fish over a marking, or try to get a fish as close to a picture in a book or internet as they can, or try to seek for a "holly grail" of certain fish, or judge other fish keeper on how they keep their fish, or keeping tab of other tank or fish they have. People who loves fish don't see fish as money. They only see fish as a fish!

All I see are fish crammed into a tank where they cannot even act as they normally would. Nothing pleasing about that.
