What Do Zoos or public Aquariums do...

Guys and ladies.. been wondering for sometime today.. there are plenty of Zoos and Aquariums that hold tropical fish.. and quiet a few hold arowanas in their tropical displays.. What do they feed the aros.. What would the frequency be.. Obviously a large setup like this they have to keep in mind operational costs as well as the well being of their inmates.. I've haven't heard or seen a decent public aquarium in India so I can't go ask these questions.. Could anyone and everyone chip in.. prob if you guys could do some research, if a public aquaria around you holds aros, and put up the results.. think it would benefit all.. cheers..

p.s. some pics of the aquarium you visited with aros would be nicer :)
 
Only seen one at the local zoo once. Most of their tropicals are donations in with the manatees. Seemed they were getting a pellet diet.

All of the public aquariums in the USA have a staff biologist. They usually or should understand the food requirement the fishes need. There is a lot of factory made pellets I believe will do the job but live/frozen food should not be out of the question. The best way is for you to email some of these public aquariums in the USA or Europe and ask them. They should respond. It is a public relation thing. Good Luck.

Ya mate.. i was planning on doing that too.. just trying to find a list of aquaria that also feature tropicals..
 
Two that I know of. Locally is the Lowry Park zoo. That is where they keep tropicals with manatee. The other would be the Georgia Aquarium where they also keep whale sharks.
