Who wants some African Lion Burgers?

I'm not sure how that would taste. Most of the time when I eat more herbivorous animals they seem to taste better than their more carnivorous counterparts. Although if you get a chance try camel. It rocks.

Group buy on American Beaver? I can say from experience that there isnt much better then fresh beaver.

i've always wanted to try nutria. that thing that was originally brought over to be eaten. looks like a beaver without the beaver tail. they'e abundant around here

While I like to try different meals and dishes,I don't think I've ever heard of eating mamalian carnivore meat, except maybe in certain impoverished areas in Africa where it is called bushmeat.I think I will pass on the Leo burgers and the overhyped and priced Kobe.

I would love to try it as well. However, you're history is a bit off. As I understand it.......It was originally brought over to try to control and clear some of the swampy lands of and near the everglades, then when the population got out of control the government decided to run a campaign advising that it was good to eat. They had hoped the locals would help control the population by feeding on them. Cheap easy source of a good protein!

Maybe my info is off, just did a web search. Appears they were brought in for their fur. And then got out of control.

That's what I had heard as well but I wasn't aware that nutria had moved into Oregon.

Dont want to hijak the thread, but it seems like there are 2 versions of why they were brought in. One says for swampy weed control, to help free up that land to be used in more productive ways, and one says for the fur trade.
