My 600 Gallon Tank Issues

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The best advice would be to just let it go IMO

that's the lamest advice I ever heard of ....Now we should be afraid because a POS company that went out of business threatens with a lawyer ? There are at least 20 threads on this forum about how bad they suck.

..and for whoever wants a big tank built at the right price go with Midwest ...I'm happy I did (check my sig).

You probably will never be in the position where you can libel someone. Neo owns this site and can hurt a business with his statements. For example: I'm in the market for a $15K to $20K fish tank. If Neo says don't buy from company X because bla bla. Company X can come after Neo for $20K. Lets say there's 10 other guys that were also going to buy but don't because what Neo says. Now Neo is into them for $200K. Lets say company X also has a thousand customers that are happy. Plus they also honored the replacement policy and gave NEO a brand new tank....
Is this making sense now?
Any thing over $5K you need a lawyer to go to court. This isn't small claims stuff you watch on your fancy 60" TV after the Springer show in your brand new doublewide. Lawyers cost lots of money and he would need one and he will still lose the case.

Lame advise in the trailer park, true. I agree.

Great advice for someone that actually has something to lose.

Egon - all true...UNLESS he actually does have proof that would stand up in court. If he does, then he should still be very, very careful about what he says but should consider finding a lawyer that won't charge until/unless they win. At that point, the lawyer's fees will come out of the settlement or judgement and Neo wouldn't be out anything else. The problem with that is that court cases are NEVER as straightforward as who is in the right...which is another problem entirely.

One more thing....Neo, how a company that no longer legally exists (officially closed for business) can pursue legal action against you ?

Why do you think he just posted this yesterday, as soon it was announced they closed? The timing isn't coincidence :)

I know and that's my point ....Do we fear even the dead this days? LOL ...Not to mention all these "expert" legal counseling when is no longer relevant.
I also remember when both of us mentioned on different threads how bad their costumer service was and people accused us of being negative/ bashing the company. It's funny to see now, how the same people are singing a different tune.

Well it's easy to understand why someone might have been defensive of that company back then. If they had bought tanks from them and everything went great I'm sure they might want to think you were just being negative based on their experiences.

Ya still have to be careful, well it's not your money, but Neo has to be careful. Maybe the company is in negotiations for sale of equipment and inventory or maybe reopen under a new name, bankruptcy/reorganization, who knows? I own a franchise and I intend to sell it someday. I was hypersensitive to the market at the time of purchase and I will be again when I try to sell. If I saw negative postings on a message board or whatever I would have used that to get a lower price. When it’s time to sell you want the potential future business to look as promising as possible. They would come after him for sure. Also, what’s the point to posting a negative comment? If the business is actually gone then who cares, they can’t do anything with the feedback anyway. Again this is just a FYI for you, Neo actually has cash on the line. When Neo speaks, we listen
