You guys need to stop arguing. I just wanted to know your opinion. Everybody here has good points and knows about fish keeping and arguing won't prove that

Raising any animal in a fashion where factors controlled by the keeper limits the animal to only reach half the size of what it's genetics allows it to achieve is ignorant. Evolution is achieved over several generations not on the drop of a dime because some one wants it to.

That is for wild Oscars. Captive oscar's eat anything we give them.

Wild oscars and captive oscars are the same fish. They have not been bred for traits of being smaller, nor vegetarian. The dietary needs of a captive oscar are essentially the same as a wild oscar.

Captive oscars can eat anything in the aquarium trade. While wild oscars can eat anything from the wild. An oscar is an oscar. But they are different with a couple things for example.

Americans eat hotdogs. No other country eats them except us.
Other countries eat different things as well, but guess what. We all are humans still.

Captive and wild oscars are like this(above).

sadly when i started the hobby, i realized my mother had four oscars in a 20 gallon back twenty years ago :( they all died quit fast.. when i told my mother why they died she cried, i felt horrible for even telling her :'(
