Yeah, those marble and the blackies look great. I'm thinking I'm going to have to switch to light colored substrat. My marble turned dark so quick on black 3m quartz.

Yup.. Thats a good idea.. It brings out the contrast in the Rays coloration..
And RMM & Pearls look great over light substrate..

These guys add a gd contrast to any tank anytime..

Those marbleds are amazing... but id take those blacks in a heart beat any day over any marbled...

Depends on the place u r in..
Its quite popular in Singapore..
Not to mention we have StonesAquarium too..
We have a oddball heaven here..

Those look like Marshy's blackies.

There's a market for $250 Marbles, but when the nice ones cost black ray money why sell the offspring for the same price as a wild caught gamble? The "market" doesn't pay decent money for CB Marbles. I had a hard time back when the "market" was "good". Why buy nice Marbles when you can buy blackies for the same price?

Brown love. That's why. Black and white is great, but at $2-3K each (for nice blackies) and food/housing requirements that are out of reach for many, there's plenty of reason to be a brown noser.

I agree u carry a strong point on the Capital issues..
But lets not doubt the real love for the brown base guys..
They just add a certain contrast that the blackies cant add..
But put them together.. Woah!! U got urself a pretty good looking tank..
Let give these guys thier individual credits for thier awesome beauty..

agreed.. and since you're from SG, the asian market at the moment - blacks is the current in-thing. esp BD. less and less ppl keep marbles and pearl anymore. they are a few that i know still keep breeding marbles and pearls. but hard to move the pups around esp in SG and MY. but i trust Richard instict, once the waves or the crazes for black rays died out, marbles and pearl may get back their spot..

I agree DB, good quality CB marbles should cost more then WC gambles but so many people in this hobby are worried about the price. At least there are a few of us dedicated marble nuts willing to pony up the money to get our hands on the nice ones!
