Lol, good to watch the Colts win last night. I was cheering for them at the end of the game there. Kinda felt like I was watching the special olympics or something like that.

Personally I would have been fine seeing them go out without a win.

Instead of making a thread just for this. I put it here:

Regular season is getting closer to an end and I noticed I'm not ready for off season. So I got in the mood for computer football games. I didn't want any heavy game like Madden's stuff. I thought about Tecmo super bowl but decided even more basic then that.

I made my own Football game using a TRS-80 simulator. There is no graphics(just writing). Instead of a timer I have a set number of plays(120 total). You can run, pass, punt and kick a field goal. As of right now there is no fumbles but there are interceptions. There is also loss of yards, dropped balls, blocked punts/field goals.

Due to limitations of the simulator I'm yet to figure a way to have floating teams. It's set for the Eagles and Cowboys. Under constant playing it takes about 30 minutes per game.

For now I'm only going to use 4 teams on each side. I picked: Pats,Steelers,Texans and Ravens on the AFC , Then Cowboys, Saints, Packers and Eagles on the NFC. If each side has a clear victory then it will only be 13 games total(Including my super bowl). If each side has a tie there will be a play off which can become 15 games.

Again, This is just me being bored

As a Texans fan, we've been playing some crappy football the last couple of days :'(. I'm happy we have the division but gosh, we won't go anywhere playing like this.

Love the texans - root for them to win in the AFC south - but I have not been impressed. Impressive that they can still win without two qb's and johnson - but it hasnt been pretty and the competition hasnt been crazy either.

IMO, The pats are better. They just seem to play harder and convince me more that they want to win. The Ravens and Texans are about even. But I can't pick a leader out of the 3.

No way. Steelers are raw power. Their linebackers now are probably one of the most physical groups ever. The defense is physical, the offense is physical and they all play super sound. Then you add playmakers like mike walace and they can be explosive as well.

Pats play well, solid front office/organization, great coaching. Players are mostly no namers and old folks. Guys go hard, work hard, make big plays. I think most of their "stars" are generated via coaching and scheme though - paired with good work ethic. Pats have weak competition - and dont seem to play well against legit competition. Pack should have beaten them with a backup qb who hadnt really ever played in a game.

Lastly - the above is crazy haha

Well...Steelers should win the next 2 but it seems the Ravens will too which would put the Steelers as a wild card. Hopefully they don't face the Ravens in the playoffs as they seem to have their number.

.........................................

I started 'my season' off with the 1st week so far:

Packers (1-0) 27
Saints (0-1) 07

Cowboys (1-0) 45
Eagles (0-1) 0

Steelers (1-0) 24
Ravens (0-1) 17

Patriots (1-0) 23
Texans (0-1) 14

I'm watching(and slightly tweaking) the program as I seem to win(I'm playing the top player). Strange... the last two games while still debugging, I got my butt kicked. Also the games are coming out to about 15 minutes so I'll add 4 more teams next season(2 for each side ) which will push it up to about 30 games in normal season

Edit: I did fix the floating team issue...you can enter any team you want(including a non-existing team)

The extent of my football related programing was making an "If then" statement based program where you could ask ricky williams questions and he would answer them. It got me a D+ or something in my highschool programing class.

All I want for Christmas is a "real" QB on the Dolphins roster. :(

Do you hope they will draft?

I think Moore really deserves a chance. He has played on some cruddy teams - but has done decently with you guys, and the team has pulled around him a little. Build that offense up. I would start with a couple more o linemen, and another running back. Drafting a quarterback is super risky.

Defense down there is young - but I like the looks of it, especially in the secondary. Stupid mistakes happen, but there is a physicallity and intensity that you dont see often with those guys. Looks like a young Sam Madison and Pat Surtain at times...wouldnt you love to go back to that haha.

It's not like there's going to be a shortage of QBs available that are worthy of being drafted in the first round, so the Dolphins could easily go that direction if need be. They're predicted to take Baylor's Robert Griffin III (QB) in the draft, so that could be a good sign since he won the Heisman Trophy after all. It's also somewhat possible that they could get Luck should the Colt's choose to not draft him in favor of someone else; none of the other teams that pick ahead of them have a real need for a QB at this point in time.

I'd say that the Dolphins should take a QB in the first round but keep him on the bench for the first season in order to learn from Moore; they really need to get someone for their future franchise QB rather than the fillers that they've had in the past. They seem pretty set at RB with Bush and Thomas, so they could easily roll with them but also pick up another later in the draft. The offensive line could be worked on as well early on in the draft, too.

The AFC is weak, and overrated. Who is better than the steelers? Legit AFC teams: Steelers, Patriots, and Indy used to be. Patriots are hit and miss - but were legit. Everyone else at best is equal to a detroit.
legit afc steelers ravens patriots, legit nfc pack and saints
