Here's what I did with mine. Just cut holes in the tank, each T/elbow goes into the tank then to line lock fittings. Move them around till it floats your boat or moves the poo. Can definetly get some surface agitation this way ;)

As far as the teeth, I hacked all mine out and replaced with egg grate.

If you run into flow issues (doubt you will) the full siphon overflows are supposed to move a rediculous amount of water through smaller drain diameter.

I'd definetly leave the one overflow on the end. I have one of the overflows in my 750 blocked and hacked (4) 2" drains into the one overflow just cause it seemed to move water around better. :naughty:

I've always thought Korilias on a wavemaker or timer would be sweet but haven't had to resort to it yet. Something to just kick on to stir stuff up, but at the same time seems to me somewhat of a bandaid to cover issues that could be addressed with a creative return system. :)

Thanks for the input guys. Pretty much what I figured I needed to do but before I started cutting wanted to make sure I was not wrong in my thinking. I will likely get a powerhead down behind the driftwood and then open up the teeth some on my overflow box.

Here is a shot of the back of the tank to give you a little more idea what it is like:

For external overflow boxes...they are awesome! I have them on both of my 520 gallon tanks and once you have on you will never want an internal again.

Here is a shot of the one on the ray tank from before the tank was moved in place:

Here you can see a little of the one on my saltwater tank. It is in the center rear of the tank:

LUCKY!!!!!!

Yup, would definetly take that arangement over the trapastupidzoidal or in the way square boxes. Sucks it so easy to make holes and so friggin difficult to ix the internal overflows.

I think Koralias on a wave machine is the best solution, with a constant flow the eddeys will always dump stuff somewhere. I have a koralia that I turn on every now and then.

How do the rays do with that Koralia in there? I'm not sure I'd trust mine to leave the thing alone. They destroy, mess with, rearange and chew everything in the tank. Even the airstones are replaced every few months from them chewing on them. I'd think they'd have a hayday knocking anything they can off the walls.

You ever consider getting a flagtail? I notice they do a good job cleaning the walls of the tank because i had the same problem in one of my tank.

Flag tails and rays are a risky mix at best. I have no Deco in the tank and an almost full tank spray bar plus a koralia which the rays don't mess with for whatever reason (they chew on most things).

Yeah they are risky but i guess it just depends, had a few people put them together with no issue.
