Jardini with gill curl.

Ushally comes from crowded/small tanks you see it a lot with red tail catfish. There was a video on here on mfk with a red tail cat that had a very bad case of Gill curl so what he did was he used colive oil to make the cat "sleepy" and lytrilly took surgen scissors and cut the infected Gill curl area and then quarantined him for 2weeks. If you do it though make sure you use a VERY small amount of the colive oil and hold the fish with a towel and use another towel with to cover his eyes. Try to get someone to help you with it. Its not very hard at all the cat did great after and got around 3 and half feet which is around a small adult size for a rtc. Its not hard at all you just have to have the balls to do it.

I was thinking of buying that same exact fish as well, but because of the gill curl, I decided not to.

Looks like we have the same haunts lol.....I don't think I have the stones for performing any gill surgery though.

Honestly its a quick snip the only reason your sposed to use the colive oil is so they don't freak out but if he's small enough I don't think you'd have trouble. Theres no blood also

some arowana forum like indodragon.com should have some people know about how to use clove oil as a lot of people in Asia used it to trance the fish for transport, measurement, ...! I remember the amount of oil will depend on how big(on weight) is the fish.

Don't think it's a good idea to not sedate the fish.. As you are cutting the gill, it might twitch and the blade might injure it..
Yea the Guy was having problems holding the fish.
