DIY lowes led light

OK I had a carol life PC 4x65 10000K/50/50 in it that was a bit much for my polys so I decided to make something a bit less crazy of a light lol

so this is what I did

1st got an old school hood light from the garage lol

2nd took out all the wiring and ballast no pic but you get the point
3rd got 6 outdoor water proof standard light sockets from lowes cost $3.50 each

marked wear I wanted the lights to go and drilled 3 holes 1 for the wires and 2 for the zip ties



then mounted them and wired them up nothing to complicated at all really only took about an hour to complete




I forgot to mention the light i used are utilitech pro 120v 4w 60hz

I really like the way this has turned out and did the same thing on one of my grow out tanks,
total cost for the light bulbs was $40 and supplies i think was around $20-28

What are those plants on top of the light, are they outside the tank or is some of it inside ?

How is it on the heat? You know how it is here in AZ. I almost never have my lights on in the summer to keep the heat down in my tank......

Goldepathosse plants only the roots are in the tank

the LEDs seems to put off next to nothin compared to other light i haved used, I keep the lights on with this setup almost all day

Ya when I saw them I thought it would work perfect for this project, and they are guaranteed to last 40 years lol

I think it would be called parallel ground to ground hot to hot
