responsible for a store to sell blue ring?

I have touched other cephs that I've kept in the past,I like the strength that is felt in their tentacles and suction discs,but I wouldn't touch a blue in any case.

To be fair he did not say anything about how the venom was injected, whether through a bite or otherwise and the great info that you have provided does not touch on how the blue ring developes it's venom.
 
IMO:

Sign on tank should read "If he bites you, you're dead! Buy at your own risk."

If I owned the shop I would never sell them or carry them for looks. Too much risk involved.

You cannot compare these to other Venomous creatures such as snakes because at least with a snake you do have a chance on getting anti-venom.

oh how i love clueless people. All your scources say nothing about the process of the venom creation. To create that tetradotoxin, he needs to eat special food, that he can't find in the tank. Same about cone snails and pufferfish. That poison is accumulated in his body so he can use it when he needs it. Thank you for letting me teach you a lessen. next time i take a fee from you. have a nice day.
 
I am in the camp, I don't go near animals that can kill me. Just a guideline. If I was the LFS owner I would not offer them. If I saw one in a fish store, I would seriously reconsider going back. What happens when it escapes it's tank, and bites a kid?

What intentions do you have for owning an ultra-exotic pet?

I don't think it matters what a person does for living, the rule of common sense seems like rules enough for me.
Can you imagine if you are a high school kid, working in a pet store and the owner brings one of these things in....what do you think is going to happen?

What is "special food"? What is it the stuff they eat that we can't feed them? It isn't like these venomous animals go around and catch certain things to get certain aspects of the venom. They all eat inverts and small fish. I am pretty sure that is mostly what I feed all of my fish. Can the same be said about Lionfish and Rabbitfish? It can't, they are still venomous in captivity even though they are getting a somewhat different diet.
 
As long as the store is taking precautions, letting customers know just how dangerous it is and ensuring that it goes to an experienced home, I think it's alright. I don't think I would keep one, but if someone knowledgeable about the species wanted to and had the means to do it - sure why not?

They are really beautiful though!
